Lawmaster to Insight Legal Data Migration

If you have software from Law Master, we are able to provide a complete data migration to the Insight Legal System.

GB Systems first produced the Law Master software in the 1980s.  It was aimed at small to medium sized firms in Scotland and latterly produced a product called Law Master Professional.  In 2003 GB Systems were taken over by the Mountain Software Group and in 2007 became part of the IRIS Legal Division, latterly renamed as Advanced Legal.

Since launching in Scotland we have performed highly successful data conversions from Law Master to Insight Legal.

We would recommend a trial run data conversion is performed prior to the live Law Master migration.  To arrange a trial run, get in touch and send us a backup of your database.

We will then take this data and run it through our Law Master conversion program. Once we have completed the initial trial conversion process, we will install the Insight system with a copy of your converted Law Master data so you are able to see exactly how the conversion works and check all of the details. If any modifications are required to such things as departments, fee earner codes, matter types etc. these can all be agreed prior to the live conversion.

During the live conversion, you can continue to use the Law Master system if you so choose. If you choose to do this, then you will need to redo any transactions that have been posted or clients and matters that have been created in Insight Legal when you have the live system installed.

• Document Registers (titles/deeds/wills/shares)
• Powers of Attorney

The live conversion will typically take around three days to complete. During this time we can train you and your staff on how to use Insight legal. The training can take place using your trial run data so you will know exactly how this will be once the system is live.
