UPDATE: Thursday 16th December 2022

We are delighted to announce that our new charity partner for 2022, as voted for by the public, will be;

Mustard Seed Autism Trust

Thank you for you all your votes. Thank you also on behalf of Home-Start Hampshire and Yateley Industries for the votes both these deserving charities received.

We will update in January 2022 with news of how the Insight Team will support Mustard Seed with fund-raising.

Each year Insight Legal partners up with a charity and supports the partnership through a diary of events, fundraising activities and social media interaction.

2022 will be our 5th year of partnering with a charity. In the past we have supported; Parkside, Step by Step, Willow Foundation and most recently Challengers

This scheme is a fantastic way for us to help make a difference to some of the many worthy charities within our community; regionally or nationally.

The process to become Insight Legal’s charity partner is simple; We have asked our staff members to nominate their chosen charity and subsequently have shortlisted these nominations to 3 charities that we believe have similar values to ourselves and that we could potentially partner with;

Home-Start Hampshire

Registered Charity No.
1144661

The core purpose of Home-Start Hampshire is to provide support to Families with children aged between 0 and 11 so families can provide their children with the best possible start in life.

Home-Start Hampshire is a local charity providing trained volunteers and expert support helping families with young children through their challenging times. The charity is there for parents when they need them the most…. because childhood can’t wait.

Quotes from some of the families;

“I found the pandemic hit me harder than I thought it would. Having a two year old and no one to talk to or play with really hit my mental state, which is why I came to Home-Start. The challenges I faced were disability related for [family members]. Having no access to any services including my GP was difficult”

“As a first time parent having a [under 2 months old] old baby when the first lockdown happened it has been hard, I feel my child has missed so much and is behind with milestones. I have also missed out on baby groups and socialising with other parents”

“Having other people to talk to that are also in hard situations has been a nice release, not feeling alone or judged. But also just someone who will listen and try to offer some support, whatever that may be”

Mustard Seed Autism Trust

Registered Charity No. 1148938

Mustard Seed Autism Trust is a small charity based in Frimley Green. We provide 1-1 and small group therapy and support for autistic children.

We deliver training for parents and run monthly sibling support groups. We have a tiny team of occupational therapists, a specialist teacher and family support worker, supported by a team of wonderful volunteers! We support around 150 families every year.

Here is some feedback from parents;

"My 6 yr old son has been struggling with his emotions. Since the lockdown his emotional outbursts have increased and he recently started shouting that he wanted to kill himself and throw himself from the window. We have felt entirely abandoned with the lockdown and have two autistic sons who are not coping well with the situation at all. I had no idea how to tackle this situation and felt very lost, helpless and frightened. Francis got back to me almost immediately and arranged for a telephone call. She provided me with reassurance and practical advice with strategies to help me understand what was causing these emotional meltdowns and how best to support our son. Francis sent us detailed information via email which I am using and referring back to with ideas to help him build up his emotional resilience."

"There have been times that I’ve been scared for my child and it is the biggest comfort to me knowing that if I have any worries, I can get advice over the phone or through email. Even in lockdown with enough panic out there, they are there helping parents like me to support our children in the best way possible."

Yateley Industries Ltd

Registered Charity No. 229571

Yateley Industries works to sustain and increase the opportunities for people with disabilities in rewarding employment, both in its internal employment opportunities and mainstream work, with an occupation that enables a disabled person to contribute to society. It operates one of the few remaining supported factories that help vulnerable adults to do paid meaningful work intended to help progress them into mainstream employment. They currently operate a packaging factory in Yateley and charity shop (Helping Hands) in nearby Hartley Wintney.

In addition they are also a landlord providing accommodation to people with disabilities where they have a small community within our main site.

In 2021, Yateley Industries opened a community pantry supporting local residents who are facing food poverty. The Pantry aims to help as many residents as possible on a weekly basis and shoppers will find a range of fresh, frozen and general foods. There is no referral necessary, and anyone can sign up for membership. Shoppers will pay £5 membership for each visit and will be able to choose a minimum of £15 worth of food
